Sichuan, China has been affected greatly by the voluminous earthquake. Our mission is to help Sichuan recover from the loses it has suffered from, by funding Sichuan with rebuilding its schools and community. We plan to support another organization which also is looking into this issue.
Organization One
What is the organization? The organization that we have found is called CTEF, China Tomorrow Education Foundation.
What exactly are they doing to try and combat or change your issue? CTEF is an organization that has been helping school children and renovating schools in rural China since 2001. Before the earthquake they have been working on renovation projects in Sichuan, Beichuan, and Yilong counties. They are putting 100 percent committed to the Earthquake Relief Fund to rebuild the schools and community, as well as children who have suffered from the disaster.
What are some of the things you like about their program? I like that this organization is fully alert of the situation in Sichuan and is putting 100 percent in helping this issue. On their website it states that they have already have raised around 150000 dollars to aid the Relief Fund, this shows me that they really are giving all they got to this tragedy.
What are some questions you have about it? Has your effort shown any sign of improvement in the community? How many schools do you plan to rebuild by 2010, or how many schools do you plan to rebuild?
How could you become involved with this organization or model your action plan after it? We can become involved with this program by donating the money we raise to their organizations, this way they can use the money to help rebuild communities and schools.
Another Organization that is helping
What is the organization? The second organization we searched up is called RCSC, the Red Cross Society of China.
What exactly are they doing to try and combat or change your issue? The RCSC has launched a 2.5 billion Yuan reconstruction aid project to Sichuan on May 12, Thursday. For their first phase of the project, the RCSC will provide the 130 million Yuan to DeYang, the worst hit area, to build nine new villages, six schools, 13 health centers and 21 supporting facilities for the new villages.
What are some of the things you like about their program? I like how their website has a lot of information on the subject, showing that they are fully dedicated and know a lot about the situation.
What are some questions you have about it? Other than just helping DeYang where else in Sichuan do you plan to fund? Are you going to sponsor the children that have suffered from the tragedy, and now cannot afford to go to school to get an education?
How could you become involved with this organization or model your action plan after it? We can model our action by trying to help in the same way they do. We can devise a first phase plan and then start from there. Funding is an important thing and maybe like the RCSC organization we can raise enough money to make a huge difference.

Now that you have your opening paragraph posted on the wiki, you need to post some more information on your case study. Post the questions as well as the answers on your wiki. Make sure to add youtubes, photos and video to your wiki as well.
1. What is the specific topic your group decided to focus on?
Our group has decided to focus on rebuilding schools in Sichuan. We feel that we need to help Sichuan rebuild its community and environment, and we are fully dedicated to help fund Sichuan with its efforts.
2. Which organization did you choose to focus on and why?
CTEF, China Tomorrow Education Foundation, is a determined and well-organized organization that shares the same interest as ours. CTEF is a Seattle-based organization that has experience in rebuilding schools, due to the renovation of other schools in the Sichuan area. We chose the organization CTEF, because of its wide-range of knowledge on the situation and the effort that it has put into the cause.
3. What exactly are they doing to try and combat or change your issue?
CTEF is rebuilding schools that have been affected by the earthquake and provides students, who are unable to go to school, with supplies. CTEF believes “1. Every child should have access to basic education. 2. Education can help lift communities out of poverty. 3. Education can bridge cultural gaps and empower individuals to become responsible global citizens. 4. Education holds the key to China's sustained development.” (CTEF webpage). CTEF is an organization that is fully dedicated to rebuilding schools, and is well experienced with renovating schools.
4. What are some of the things you like about their program?
CTEF has beliefs that are related to ours and is helping schools not only in Sichuan, but also in other provinces around China. We like how CTEF is a well built organization and we think that is trustworthy and that we should be able to cooperate with them.
5. How do you plan to become involved with this organization or model your action plan after it?
We can become involved with this organization by help funding its efforts in rebuilding schools. The funds we make could go to supplies for rebuliding schools or to the students, “ It only cost $1 to supply a book for the school library, $15 to $20 to supply a set of desk and chair, $2,500 to $3,000 to build a standard classroom, $6,000 - $10,000 to build a single-room rural school, $30,000 - $60,000 to build a village school that hosts 100-300 students” (CTEF webpage). Working with CTEF is a good way to help fund Sichuan through an NGO.
